You HAVE to get that thing, holy crap its worth a hundred bucks no problem... it feels great in your hands, screen is *huge* and crystal clear, graphics are awesome especially in semi-3D games, plays like a mini N64. Friend has it and I am going to either work like mad to make some money or kill him and steal it...

Heh heh. I work retail right now, so I am assured of getting every system as soon as it comes out. I had my GBA in my hands on tuesday. ^_^
The graphics are awesome, definitly worth the money. Check IGN for reviews of all the games and screen shots. Id say the quality is better than SNES, but not quite as good as PS1. Although its got a kick ass graphics chip for a handheld, it still can only hold about a 200 polycount on the screen before slowdowns hit. Nintendo makes up for this, though, with its AWESOME 2d rendering software and chip. This is the same technology which brought us the pseudo 3d of mario kart and others that used the factor 5 engine.

The screen size is larger than all previous handheld systems, but it is a bit dark due to no backlight. That is good though, cuz the batteries last, i believe, 15-17 hrs. If it had a backlight, it wouldn't last more than a few hours. L and R buttons are a bit awkward in placement, but you get used to it real fast.
Definitly get it, and you NEED to get one of the new games as well. If you play it without seeing the new graphics you will be disapointed. But you must also play with one of the old cartridges, to see how much larger the screen has gotten. Since nintendo didnt want to waste time with screen stretching calculations, the unused portion of the screen is left black. You can really see the diff.
wait...what games do you have for them??
oh and can't they play gb and gbc games??

damn dude the gba is just simply put "the classic next-gen handled" it gives you the feeling of the great old king Snes but with better graphics to boot. This is one hell of a handheld. Play Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 for gba and you will simply be dazzled. but the emulation of the gba sucks right now exspecially compalibilty will at least have to wait another good 3 months for a descent emulater for it all well.
