As soon as I read igns review and they say it runs smooth its mine. The frame rate is my only worry, and I would like to know how the controls are. Bad controls are not a good thing. with the four buttons it should work out fine.
dam in the era of quake and ut. and you guys are hyped up over doom....

Doom might not be the greatest looking fps, but it has never seen a handheld. Its not like we are going to see quake on it or something. I have had all of id's games and I am noy stoping now. Besides I need more than THPS2 GBA, and Super mario Delux GBC on it.:) (but the ability to stretch GBC games to fit the screen better works great on Mario)(and the fact that GBC games look darker on the gba, makes Mario wich is to light just right):D

I just got the latest issue of EGM in the mail (October), and they have a quarter-page preview on Doom GBA with a few screenshots. They say they tried it hands on and it's smooth, so I'll take their word for it. They also say there's a feature that, besides the brightness control, allows you to turn on/off dynamic lighting, which is basically gamma correction. I can't wait to play this sucker with my friends in study hall this year :)
ahahh this sure beats playing tetris or penguin on dam ti-8X calculators don't it

Yeah, I'd sacrifice battery life for a backlit screen anyday......
what and have a repeat of the game gear.......6 batterys = 2 hours
fuck the backlit screen i want a long battery life

As I keep saying my battery pack lasted 6 hours
Get 2 of them and you're set for 12 hours
No human should have a need to play that long nonstop

It might get some serious game time with some death matching going on.:) I have played PD for 5 hrs or so before straight. Screw backlighting I have a worm light.

doom is a classic game but is it really worth spending that money on a 7 yr old game???
sure, it does bring back old memories but imo its not worth getting.
i never really liked doom that much because, like all id software games, they have no gameplay!!!!
great game engines, pity about the gameplay.

OH YEAH, the Hawaii Chainsaw Massacre is reborn in GBA form! Hehehehehehe, if they have the cheats intact, I'll be able to chase down every imp and baron of hell down and grind them into hamburger meat.

As I recall, there are about 4 different FPS slated for release on the GBA. Doom is the closest to release, I believe. One of the titles was hoping to allow up to 4 player deathmatches using only a single cartridge. That would kick ass.
It will be interesting to see which title is the best, in the end.
