Speaking to my bud who works at GAME and he tells me the redesigned PS2 with better DVD playback will come with the Net Adaptor and retail at 200 UK POUNDS which is around 300 US BUCKS....a rise of 30 uk pounds (45 bucks or so)
Now this will be the standerd ps2 pack but do SONY have enough arrogance to up the price even though it has extras whilst Gamecube & Xbox keep falling in retail price??
Time will tell as nuthin is official

Yup can't argue with GTA3 & Vice City being console exclusive on the PS2.
When it happens i'm sure microsoft will hit back with a Xbox live bundle at a great price
i dont know whether im buying it or not but sony has some fucking guts for giving us a bigger price, even if it is only £30

S'ok they can raise the price if they want I'll just stick with what I've got. I'm not rushin' out to by a new PS2 just cuz it has better DVD playback capabilities and the online adapter.
I have already had to buy a new piece o shit, woops I mean PS2, because the 1st one I got waaay back on release day just stopped working after a few days. No way I'm buying another cheap piece o crap offa sony:mad:

The hardware sucks, it should be selling for 150(u.s). They figure that people will buy 2 or 3 because they are always breaking
I doubt it's the games, it's the fanboys. Sony practically earned a lot of customer's trust, but I'LL BE DAMNED if I ever pay a higher price for something that was supposed to there already. (specifically the better DVD playback)

hmmm that seems weird the price dropped here in the U.S. for the older units at 179 and the new 1 with proggresive scan and the network adapter is the same 200 bucks as be4 but anyways if sony was really smart (or forgiving 2 the consumer) theyd at least make a special edition memory card that has the proggressive scan files to be loaded into the dvd playback driver and well the network adapater can be purchased seperatley that kind of sucks for those who purchased an older console but anyways ill probably sell mine and get the new 1
