i thought microsoft was a media whore 2? and i can see u have a personal grudge against sony or something? i think they were also reffering 2 the fact that game developers r getting tidbits on how to develop 4 the ps3 from sony and more that likely they have already collaborated on developing games for the ps3

If the early bird gets the worm WHAT THE HELL happened with the Dreamcast!? :( Poor system...
PS3 is due in 2006 as is the Xbox2 but the new Nintendo is due in 2005. Not sure if this is wise or not.

Nintendo would be better off sticking to Handheld consoles and Software....Gamecube is starting to fade and Sony/Microsoft can blow it out the water with the cash they have for the next generation of consoles

nintendo has been kicked really hard but they still maintain themselves for a fight, and i believe their next-gen console is clutch time for them and if they don't want to become another sega they better acquire better software development deals (afterall they did begin the practice of lossing money on hardware they soled)

They won't become another Sega until they start to lose money. Nintendo is still making a profit on the GC and GBA. In fact, they've never posted a loss, even during the N64 era.
Well said PainKiller. People don't seem to realise that Nintendo have not lost money on any of there consoles. People only think Nintendo are doing badly because they are selling less (bet theres not that much difference in sales between Xbox and GameCube.) There may may be a loser in a Console war but in reality if a company makes profit of of a console it has not failed.

They won't become a SEGA as the handheld market is sewed up for them but with SONY and mobile phones getting into that market watch the profits go down.
If the big N were relying on the GC they would be shitting their panties but one thing they do have is game franchies that sell consoles and i reckon they would make far more going multi format with Mario , Zelda etc....too many damn consoles out there anyways.
Also Xbox is now pulling away from Gamecube regards sales and thats a trend that will not stop.

when i said nintendo practiced the art of losing money on their systems i meant that its not because there losing or winning the in the console wars but they started the practice (back in the 8-bit nintendo days) of losing money for each system they soled and profits were earned more by signing deals, ill look for the source later wheater its true or not i cant say iv never worked for nintendo but it seems that sony and microsoft do it to.

Everyone has sold a console for a loss. That's how it's always worked. They make the money on software. However, Nintendo makes profit on each GC sold. I believe they are the first ones to do that, well maybe except for 3DO ($800 for a console?).
