Ok so I just finished burning all my stuff onto a CD,
I got some pointers for some of you that dont really know how or why it doesnt work sometimes.

1:Be sure that everything is rightfully configured BEFORE you burn the Emu and the roms TOGETHER.

2:I your not sure why your NEOGAREx doesnt work.....
Burn it alone.For some reason it isnt compatible with other emulators when on a cd;
(I didnt get that part either)
So just burn it seperately.

3:Be sure that the emulator (If it does have more than one version) you burn is the one you want hehe.
You dont want to find a new Mame right after you burned it (unless you have re-rightable CD's)

4:This part is optional, but in my opinion its a must!
Decorating the cover and the casing makes it much easier for you when your up to the 50th CD hehe.

So good luck and have fun!

I've never had any problems storing ROMs and emulators on a CD.
Running them off a CD can be a problem though, since many need to make an INI or CFG file to store settings in.

nah they work fine but like i sayed only neorage has MINOR problems if burnt with another emu :(

It has problems running off the CD you mean?
And if you're using an emu that stores settings in files on the hard drive (unlike SNES9X which stores them in the registry) then you'll have to reset the preferences every time you run the emulator.

Just curious, y dont u guys just burn the roms onto the cd and leave the emus on the comp?? that's wot i do.
then u just shove in a cd and load roms there.
emus r a few kb anyway...

To answer that question is easy,
Why bother leaving stuff behind when you can put it all together,On the other hand you are right though,
That way your not always hitting your head cause you burnt the "has been" new emulator cause another one just came out.
Thx for the enlightment :)

Thankyou.

but sometimes it good the other way around. sometimes u mite b missing a bios roms or something and then u can quickly get a copy from one of ur old cds.

btw, fyi, i did used to burn emus onto cds as well, just to keep a copy back then.
sheesh! i have zsnes and snes9x way back in 97! they barely ran anything good!!! :D

Sorry if there's any confusion, but I don't actually run emulators off a CD, I never have. I was just explaining some of the problems inherant to doing so.
I keep a copy of the most recent emulators on CDR along with my ROMs, for backup purposes.
Since every once in a while I update my CDs (with new ROMs also) the emus get updated too.
I've always ran both the ROMs and emulators off of my hard drive since I have enough space.

I found that most Emulators work fine on CD, except MAME (the newest Windows version). I have no idea why though.
