Hacking the PS2 Web Browser !

Dunno if this is really news for the rest of you, but is for me....

[damn, only works for those with PAL consoles]

How to hack the web pages displayed in the PS2 web browser:


start the Network Access Disc. Select Get Connected and then choose the Advanced Options button. Select Configure External Network Device and edit the settings file. Enter an IP address and away you go. We haven't got a PS2 on which to try it, but we trust the Blair-bustin' Beeb to have tried it out itself.

We'd like to suggest you try 212.100.234.54 as an IP address, which should connect you to our very own organ

Ahhhh so then all cd based systems since like say the psx, saturn system era have had these type of browsers?

hes talking about the web browser and not the gui interface used for changing some system settings.

me and my mate tried this today, and it worked. Its pretty crappy since he doesnt have a usb keyboard though. He prolly will get one soon. Some of the text is un-readable but its cool.

how do you browse without hacking it, meaning what is like you can't view html pages or something? If i remember correctly i believe the dreamcast could? or was it just certain sega pages? or am i completley wrong all together?

You could view any page on the net with a dreamcast browser. Heck I even used to post at forums, and argue in chat rooms with it. Without a keyboard. What a horrible experience that was.

just put in a special IP but it only works with PAL ps2's because the hardware is different. Im glad Europe has got a bonus for once. You americans get all the good stuff normally :p
