What’s the best fighting game and y is it the best one for ps2 or 1? My best fighting game for Playstation is Tekken 3 and my best fighting game for PS2 is Dead Or Alive 2:Hardcore its the best super sharp and real looking Graphics, super good arenas, you can get kicked threw walls, off cliffs, down water falls, into electric fences, off billings and more. You can do the best counters, there cool :) and the game play is very fast gameplay sometims to fast  :p   :D
(I am a major person that’s all about fighting games all of my posts r about fighting so if u search my name and you will find some more posts about fighting) :)

well...frankly..for ps1..most any fighting games i like are available for emulation(arcade version is much better)..usually i love capcom vs games..but cvs2 and mvc2 for ps2 suck horribly(what the fuck...everything looks toooo damn pixelated)....so if i play fighting games on ps2 its usually 3d games...hands down the winner is Virtua Fighter 4..it whups tekken's sorry ass...
oh..and theres one exception to the 2d fighting games for ps2... GUILTY GEAR X and GUILTY GEAR XX!!!!!
those games rule

Ill keep this open, although there is already a closed thread from before.
anyway I am a fan of Virtua Fighter 4, and Tekken 4. For more skilled players, I like to play Pride fc or Ufc.

And there is like 10 extra character to get in the game and its in more arcades than V.R.. Fighter has ever been in and Tekken 4 has force mode and that lodes of fun. Tek4, TTT, Guilty Gear X2.
Thats only cause thats all I have.
And the only reason peeps dont like Tek4 is cause they get their asses handed to them everytime they play... or they pick a button mashing character and win people makin them think the game is too easy..

Whats with the infactuation of Tekken? That does it, I'm saying this and I don't care if you disagree with me.
FUCK TEKKEN
Fuck Tekken, Tekken 2, Tekken 3, Tekken TT, and Tekken 4. That series is so gay, I would rather shoot my penis off and eat it for dinner than play another gay ass Tekken game. Tekken sucks, god dammit![/rant]
Anyway, Capcom vs SNK 2 gets my vote, but Guilty Gear XX may catch up to it. And if they release KOF2002 for PS2 I'm getting it the minute they release it.

Yea, right Tekken 4 is so much funner then V.R.4., there is way more things to do in Tekken and it has the best story mode. And there is like 10 extra character to get in the game and its in more arcades than V.R.. Fighter has ever been in
REALLY? MORE? lesee... arcade.....vs......force mode.....options...oh wow...... AND FORCE MODE IS A PIECE OF CRAP THAT WAS SLAPPED ON TO GET PPL TO BUY THE PS2 VERSION.....
while VR4 has Versus, story, kuumite and kuumite has a hella lot more shit that tekken 4 ever will.....and has more strategy.....and lets not go into evolution..which is badass....
and yes Tekken 4 is in alot of arcades.. BECAUSE PPL ARE STUPID AS HELL TO BELIEVE IN STUPID ASS PROMOS AND SHIT THANKS TO SONY/NAMCO...

I used to play Tekken all the time up until Tekken Tag came and the series itself became redundant. Virtua Fighter 4 is incredible and the Kumite mode is simply amazing. Yeah I've played Tekken 4 and have it but it's just not as good.

Its like this. If you like your fighting game with a more arcade feel, fast paced, flashier, and a lot of juggling, play Tekken. If you want your fighting game slower paced, simulation like, more technique, play Virtua Fighter. Now just pick one and go. I've played both, I like VF but I love Tekken. VF is just a little too slow and throw dependant for my taste. Both require a good deal of skill to play.
I don't know why some of you guys say Tekken is pathetically easy to play. Are you just picking Eddy, Hwoarang or Baek, one of those mashable characters or a Paul deathfist whore and winning. Yeah, thats going to work ONLY ON THE SHITTY PLAYERS. Play against an above average player or even an average player and see if its still easy to win.

I still play Capcom Vs. SNK 2, no matter what all these SNKfanboys say, I think it's pretty damn good.
I'd recommend the upcoming Virtua Fighter 4 evolution, especially due to it's 20 dollar price tag, but a lot of people dislike Virtua Fighter's gameplay. I'm extremely curious about Guilty Gear X2, since I keep hearing good things about it.

personally ive never played vf4
but im a huge fan of vf 2
i used to play it on my saturn , real good with akira
but also im a huge fan of tekken, tag especially
bloody good game, but only challenging.....
another thing
tekken tag on ps2 is ridiculously slow
boring slow....
the person that hates tekken is simply bored of it
maybe because his real good at it
or real crap...
either way there both great fighters......
is vf4 on ps2?

Guilty Gear X2 and Marvel vs Capcom 2 are currently the best 2-d fighting games you'll find on the Ps2. They're both different in a good way, once you're done with one you can proceed to the other.
I bought Inuyasha for the psx, twenty dollars. It's not that good of a fighter, but I like it mostly because I like the show.

You can't really say that. Guilty Gear is more of a Samurai Showdown type of game where the replay value is not as high as I wish it would be.
Marvel vs Capcom's is easier to get a hang of, and it's number of characters will keep any player busy for a good while, especially if it's a get together.
It doesn't look as good as Guilty Gear, but that's something you should be able to look past. Like I said before, it's a different kind of experience, not one is better than the other.
im not gonna say much here but
ggxx is quite a nice game
but some people dislike that marvel vs capcom style
actually 4 sum reason i really liked marvel vs sf
thats a nice game
dont ask me why...
i saw vf evolutions at the vid store
looks great

MvC2 is just a button masher, 500000000000000000000000 hit super combo, horrid excuse for a game. GGXX actually requires some skill and can be very difficult (damn you Mission Mode).
personally i like MvC2, i dont really like tekken and mortal kombat is the best. Im looking to getting SC when that comes out

As far as I'm concerned
2D: Guilty Gear XX (Capcom vs Snk 2 is also good, but the Xbox versions is better. Same goes for MvC2, but replace Xbox with Dreamcast)
2D: Virtua Fighter 4 or Soul Calibur 2
Not a big Tekken fan, but it's still a pretty good series.

Guilty Gear X2 / XX.

Kengo: Master of Bushido.
Capcom vs SNK 2.

Ok, revamping my last post:
If you're looking for a game that requires a lot of skill and dedication, but rewards you with a long amount of gameplay, go with VF4: Evo. If you want a game you can pick up and learn how to play in a few minutes, but can still play for a long time, go with Soul Calibur II. (Or, of course, you can do like I did and get both :))

1 good reason? I can give you plenty more....
Hit detection is awful, the combos are all messed up phone dials, the grappling is as weak as can be, the character designs all look the same, it has no really cool moves that make your jaw drop...
Need I go on? It has nothing memorable to add to the fighting genre, and I think the SNK and Capcom honeys are way hotter than the DOA broads any day....

anyway
when u boot the game it has a setting
of 50 or 60 hertz
60 is great
arcade speed
but only works on newer tvs

my best charecter is paul
i only use him if i need to win
no , i dont throw

thats not professional i reckon
some might beg to differ
bryan is really good
i also use kazuya
but seriously
ever since i started playing t 4
steve fox is my fav character
his the best
he doesnt kick
he ducks and sways
so good!
i love that
i love that power punch he does when u press rk
then rp
when it stuns
it looks cool
the stungun is a nice move
when that stuns
oh yeah combo time
any way
id like to mention that tekken in general
can be technical for these reasons
poking
backdashing
sidestepping
how to get out of different throws
combos as well
shoould i go on?
im tired of arguing
if u hate tekken
ok
if u dont
thats fine as well

you never heard of Star Gladiator 1 & 2 ??
that's cause it's UNDERRATED! It's better than crappy Tekken
it's a 3D weapon based fighter. well, some have weapons, others have giant jojo's or use their claws etc. basically it's an galactic fight, aliens of many races fighting each other in their own ways. You can play Star Gladiator 2 on Zinc (i played it on Impact flawlessly on my PC years ago before zinc came out, so it should run fine on Zinc). Star Gladiator 1 is on psx.
http://www.emuasylum.com/mystlist/STARGLADIATOR.JPG
The main character Hayato is also in Marvel vs Capcom 2. He's in the upper pic slashing
I never played any next-gen system but i'm sure Guilty Gear XX is indeed the best fighter if they kept the magic that was in GG and GGX
thats a good idea
i should dl this game on zinc
and then compare it
though i have high hopes cause u say its good

Bustawolf has it right you lot. Tekken Tag is the pinnacle of all Fighting games. I feel I got my moneys worth with FFX with 165 game hours but if I had to estimate the amount of time I put into Tekken Tag it would easily be at least 1000+ game hours. Now thats value for money. My girlfriend and I played that beauty in vs mode about 5-10 hours a week for over 2 years. The only thing that could improve this master game would be Online capability. Oh and on the 2D front, Capcom wears the crown with Street Fighter Alpha 3. - Kendojosh
yes tekken tag was a good game
simply because it was a whole new tekken engine
as in combos etc
if ur any good at tekken then anyone would notice why its
a good game
anyway, when i got my hands on tk4,
the game blew me away
at first i thought,
oh no 1 on 1 again
but the new charecters and moves blew me away....
i think tekken is ONLY any good when u play
someone who is as good or better then urself.....
oh yeah
id also like to mention that tekken is ONLY good at arcade speed,
otherwise its slow and boring

1.Tekken Tag
2.Tekken 4
3.Virtua Fighter 4

But Tekken without a doubt is the best Fighting game for console and the arcade what is so fun about TTT is the electrics and the lightdashing.
