I'm guessing this question has been asked a thousand times but i havnt found anything in the forum so heres my Q. I'm after emulators that allow you to play games from other systems on your ps2. im after some sort of mame emulator and others like N64 and genesis. i try looking on search engines but all i see are dickhead pages with questions like "duhhhh... do ps2 emulators exist yet?" so can anyone help? thanx.

unless some savy programmer is extremely talented dont expect to see an n64 emulator for the ps2 anytime soon. Though i do believe they can get the 16-bit console up and runnin near flawlessly on it.

imagine the system you'd have to have... you wont see a proper ps2 emulator yet...

The ps2 is okay at emulateing some early systems but I am not too sure about the newer ones, but if your into emulation on a console do so on the xbox, a modded xbox you can play n64 games, and psx games, now thats crazy. Plus monthly or so the emulators get more refined.

yea i dont want a PS2 emulator for the PC i want eamulators that run on the PS2. i got another question: with the PS2 HDD installed, your PS2 will be a bit more like a computer huh? could that mean more emulation possibilities?

hell, the ps2 emulates the psx, why couldnt it emulate the other newer systems? but yeah, ive also heard that the xbox is the best bet for emulation. which is why im after one. its prolly cuz its the more similiar to a pc than a ps2 is.

Well ahhh from your rather weak english I am getting that you are saying that because there is a beta ps2 emulator out in 2 years we will have near perfect ps2 emulation  YEAH RIGHT, no way in hell that would happen just can't, in my opinion I don't see decent ps2 emulation for another 4 years or so let alone close to perfect, hell look at the best psone emulators they don't even come close to being perfect yet.

But aren't there Windoze emulators for Linux?

The desktop product is called VMware Workstation. It is only available in binary format for x86 (d'uh). Would VMware actually spend the money on R&D for a select few people to run their Windows applications on Linux/PS2? No. I can't imagine anyone who would want to run Windows applications on Linux/PS2 other than "just because." The Linux/PS2 kit is designed strictly for Linux enthuisiasts who want to learn game programming, specifically on the PS2 architecture -- not for people who are obsessed with emulation.
