I just rented this game a few hours ago, expecting a final fantasy in cell shaded form, i was sorely disapointed. :(

I do have some mixed feelings about it. I like its cell shaded goodness, but i just really hate everythingelse. You never control your character. In town, you chose from a list where your character goes, in a map/doungeon, you move like your on a chess board, your character is a little gray game piece and you tell him/her/it to go a certain direction and stuff. In battle is the only thing thats kinda fun at first, but it gets boring quick. For those who like a text based MUD this might be good, this is not for me however.

I blew 7 bucks on this, i really shoulda rented chaos legion instead :(.Say that i'm shallow(videogame vise) but I just hate the poor graphics and next to none gameplay.

Oh man, you REALLY should have read a review of this game...but at least you'll be able to get Chaos Legion next week which is a kickass game...imagine DMC1 with more characters...oh yea...it's sweet.

I wanted to like this game so much, but I just couldn't put up with it. It's everything I hate about RPGs rolled into one.

Bah I rented it just to watch the FFX2 trailer(then took it back and said it didn't work:hehe: )and from what SquareEnix said it wasn't cell shaded

it was very much cell shaded and cartoony. Or handdrawn i guess...its so confusing 5 hours into the game and i still dont understand half of the things. :(

It was some new style of drawing that Square came up with,the only good part about the game

They said that only extreme Square fans should check this out, they said the same thing about Saga Frontier 2, but I hated both.

well i don't know much about chaos legion except that its been getting slammed in the reviews

It has? EGM gave it a pretty good review. Called it everything Devil May Cry 2 should have been.

A mag a brought gave it 8/10. When i first saw Chaos legion i thought it was devil may cry. Maybe i'll rent this.
