Yesterday I decided to download the ROM set for Street Fighter 1 (that's right, the original) to see what it was like.
Man, what a piece of crap! I must say they made a huge improvement when they came out with Street Fighter 2. Also there's some interesting differences, like Ryu has red hair :)
Plus the game seemed a bit hard, I died in like a minute. It might be running too fast on my machine, hard to tell since I've never played it at the arcade.

I played that game a long time ago. I thought it kind of sucked. Of course I dont remember it to well. I played in an arcade after SF2T came out. So compared to that game this game was not to good.

first releases of arcade games from the early days do basically suck i played fatal fury 1 man that wuz shit but the sound effects when u did special moves wuz damn funny i can never play right cuz i'm laughing my head of at it PPPPPPPPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAA A WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEEEE! in a high piched voice wit a echo to it eheheheehehehehehe !

all you need to do is dragon punch your opponent they always cop it, 3 times you win, sagat takes 4 dragon punches though, seriously its all you need, get the cpu to the corner and dragon punch em till they die

Dont forget that this game was made years before SF2, its bound to be a lot worse. I have it on my C64, and man is it a load of crap. I played it in the arcade as well which had these weird rubber pads that you had to use to punch.

I just found out that my mom kept the machine, and it was street fighter 2 and it is really good. i just downlaoded street fighter 1 and it sucks, so iw as totally worng.

and i do agree its crap but think about it......if it wherent for that one crappy game there wouldnt be any sf2 and all them version.
Oh and for all of you that didnt know this,Street Fighter Alpha and the series that proceeds it are ment to be the continuation of the first "Crap" game they made a while back.
I found that out by looking into one of my old EGM magasines;
hehe go figure.

I remember seeing SF1 a few weeks back for the first time and afterwards NEVER more!
"Crap" games aren't that when they come out.

this was one of the earliest games i've ever remembered. i have to say it was pretty good for its time.
and its not that hard. i reckon it was easier than ssft2 or wotever, on cps2!

Oh I appreciate the classics alright... I was just comparing SF1 to it's big brother, SF2, and noting that there was a big improvement.
And maybe SF1 isn't hard, but either I suck big time or the game runs too fast on my computer, cause I die REALLY fast on the first guy.

Dose anybody know how many street fighter sequels there are in total? like sf 1 sf 2 sf 3d and stuff... and dose anybody rember that game when PlayStation first came out called batle arena toshiden... that game was really fun... sort of a rip off of SF but anyways...

Battle Arena Toshinden isn't a SF rip off, it's weapons based fighting in 3D, completely different gameplay
There's about a billion street fighter games, I'm not even going to try and name them all

i dont remeber i sold the game so long ago... they had weapons, i didnt even rember, i sold my playstation becuase it would start to smoke up after like 2 hours of game play =) anyways i sold it at an auction for like 300 dollars three months later. i bought a new one for like 150 =)

But I saw the pics 2 years ago before the Gamshark site was remade tehy had pics of the games and that one was there,I cant find anymore of that game now.
Lets hope it comes out somewhere so we can all see how twisted it is hehe

SF1 was hard because u only needed a few hits b4 going down. basically u had to dodge and block and do as many special moves as possible.

Battle arena toshiden was considered as a rip-off of virtua fighter, not sf2.
after VF1 came out on the saturn, toshiden came out on the psx.

Actually you forgot several games, such as all three Street Fighter 3 games, Street Fighter Zero 2 Alpha (yes I said that right), and probably others that none of us have thought of. That's not even counting the VS games.
