the online adaptor has a HDD ports i wanna hook on up to replace my memory cards, does it need to be specially formatted and does it have to be any special brand or size?

i doubt it you can store plenty of stuff but the ps2 still isnt a powerhouse of emulation (unless of course you recompile emulators for the ps2 linux os)

to the best of my knowledge they are re-doing soem emulators such as pgen for ps2 linux

Its not a normal IDE drive and port. Go read all about the ps2-Linux kit and you'll see what I mean.
