I doubt it works, since i've never heard of anyone actually PLAYING online, not to mention, how would you find an opponent? does it just go around the net looking for one? although some people do claim they have played online, theres no proof of course.

i just started doing this so i dont know exactly how it all works, ask "The D" cuz i hear he knows just what he is doing, so i know it works, but, how it works is simple, u enter in the opponants IP address,

Yes, it does work, although Genesis and ZSNES are a bit different
Also it's laggy even on a good connection
On ZSNES one person serves and the other connects to their game with their IP
On Gens you have to connect to a server (which is kind of like a chat room) on kaillera, then join someone's game or start your own
I have gotten it to work on them both so it definitely does work

Why bother to use an online version of ZSNES? The emulator's only 500 KB, for heavens's sake. Most good ROMS are at least twice that size

anyway, i took a quick look, and this site has the japanese version, i dont know about the english, http://www.force-emu.com/ this is a great site, has never failed me, good place to get snes roms when emusanet is down, only problem is, its in french, yeah, i know, i dont speak french either, just look at it for a few mins, and you will figure it out, the word, Tenshcu! (spelled wrong) means download


if this isnt what you are looking for, i will check some of the other sites

Skea- how do you set up a gamepad for snes9x? and why are the graphics so bad on this thing, the screen size was really small, so i used the "stretch" option, and now the screen is about normal size, but the graphics are aweful, is there any way to fix that

I meant direct cable connection, not cable! direct cable connection is when you've got two computers and you hook them up together

it's most annoying when you click a link to download a damned file, and it either takes you to some error page or redirects you to some top-100-roms page

Don't lie to people like that.
ZSNES netplay works just fine, on the WINDOWS version.
The DOS version has very buggy netplay that I've never seen work.
One more time, ZSNES netplay works fine.
As for the crappy graphics on SNES, that's the way it is. You can try some of the graphical enhancements like 2xSAI, etc., but the original SNES was very low-resolution. The only reason you didn't notice it was because you were playing on a TV, which by default adds kind of a blurring effect to everything.

Skaeleen, one thing you might try is turning off UDP mode on both ends when trying to connect, sometimes it works
I'm not saying it always works for everybody, just that it IS possible to get it to work since I've always been able to do it

all controllers plug inot a reular computer, wither the port in the back or the USB port, the older computers dont have a usb prot tho...

What the Hell are you people smoking
They both have IDENTICAL graphics
The only difference is that ZSNES has an interpolation option and SNES9X has 3DFX/OpenGL modes
Otherwise they are literally identical, because they both authentically reproduce the original SNES graphics
I'll take screenshots with each program if you still think otherwise

i bought the controller off ebay, for 26 bucks, its a standard gameport controller with a USB adapter

ive played both ZSNES and SNES9x, and ZSNES seemed to me to have much better graphics, maybe i just didnt have snes9x setup right or something, but ZSNES seemed better to me

im still waiting to try out the netplay on either if anybody wants too, ill be back online just after 2 pm EST

Here's 2 screen shots from Tetris Attack. One was made with ZSNES, the other with SNES9X. I swear to you that they are not with the same emulator, one IS SNES9X and the other IS ZSNES.
Which one looks better? I'm not going to tell you which one is which.

Im with you D. They must be smoking crack cause I never saw the difference anyways. I only thing I ever noticed is that some games work better on znes. Like Mortal Kombat 2, Street Fighter dont seem to work right on snes9x. I prefer snes9x, unless the game doesnt run right. Just my opinion though.

I cannot tell the difference, but on the zsnes trhe graphics for super m ario world are crap, when u go to the snes9x there 100 times better... i dont know how to make a screenshots but they are much better on snes9x

WHICHEVER ONE WORKS. meaning, that they are both good emulators, and they both work better for some people and worse for others, so you really need to try them both, and decide for yourself
