I think I finally figured out the name of that sword slashing game I played in the arcades back in 89. I'm pretty sure it's Capcom's Magic Sword . . . it's the one with the giant black blob right? Anyway, does anyone know if this ROM exists?

Thanks Emux. I found it under Callus in emusanet. Right under my nose. :) Unfortunately, it's not showing on my list of compatible games in the Callus emulator . . . I'll figure it out eventually.

Yeah, I knew about the SNES one. That's what reminded me in the first place. Skaeleen, all they did was just rerelease the game on the console a few years later . . . it's the same thing they do with Pacman every 2 years. :)

Crap, I finally got Magic Sword to work, but it isn't the game I was thinking about. There is no black blob! :(

Does anyone know what game I'm thinking of? Besides the big blob . . . hmm, it was definately medieval. I think you had a choice of 4 characters (no, not Gauntlet), just a few levels, lots of dialogue with townspeople, a castle at the titlescreen . . . sheesh, I sure can't remember a lot about this game, but it was 1989 when I played it.

Anyway, gimme a shout if you know what it is. I never did beat that big black blob.

It's an arcade game. Y'know, Skaeleen, you implied that you knew the game from your 2nd post up there. So, do you?

Ha, you got me wrong. When you asked "What system is it for" I thought you were trying to answer my question about the game I was thinking about, not which emulator Magic Sword works on. Be more specific! Anyways, I used Callace 95.

Speaking of stupid, you spelt "magic" wrong. :)

YES!!!! I finally found it!!! The game I was thinking of was Cadash, and works with Raine. After 10 years, I was finally able to get my revenge on that black blob. ;)

I definitely want to thank this website:
http://www.casema.net/~tphilips/ It organizes games by date of release, which really helped. Wow, Cadash is even older than Magic Sword!

If you like Zelda 2, you might like Cadash. The interface is kind of similar . . . I recommend it if you haven't tried it before.

Now I'm trying to remember another sword fighting game . . . had a throbbing heart and vein as a life meter, think it was released back in 1986. Hero was a Conan-ish figure . . . hmm . . .

development throughout the game....

on a beat em up side tho)
