View Full Version : How do I get MAME32 to work

I have a PC with windows 98, (but besides that) I just simply need help. The readme did not help, I just need to know how to run the games THNX:confused:

Leave the roms zipped up, put them in the roms folder, load mame and double-click the game you wanna play.

If it still doesnt work tell me what happens.

Also when you download a game into the rom folder you need to hit f5 once you open up MAME. THis allows MAME to update it archives.

And be sure you have both dll's (zlib and Midas11)

OK, I moved all the rom files (including the zip file itself) and it still brings up the box saying I have have a missing or corrupt file, it is metal slug 1, downloaded from this site so it shouldn't be corrupted

im having the same problem with combatribes. it keeps on saying im missing some files in the zip archive but when i checked, all of them were there. maybe you should use xmame or dosmame and it'll work.

some sites give dls with incomplete files/corrupted... can't do much about that 'less you get a new one

i just downloaded neo ragex and the bios, and got it to work. I just need to know how to do the first two directories thx for your time!

i just started using MAME, and i have noticed its a bit bitchy, but i like it, and hell, its free, so dont complain too much about it

i had the same problem raging had, here is something i dont think was covered by anyone: after you refresh mame, and you double click the game, the box comes up telling you you are mising something, check the name in the "---" and the compare that with the zip file name in you c drive directory, if it is not exactly the same, change it in your c drive directory, then hit refresh again, and see if the game works
