Anybody here ever play one of those rare holographic games sega made many years ago?

Man, when I was a kid, I was just fascinated by that "holographic cowboy" game..Everybody who saw the game for the first time, tried to "grab" the cowboy..funny sometime was people do,I mean did peoples actually think that their really gonna grab this cowboy, and then the cowboy would say:Hey asshole!Let go of me!(I did try it one or two time myself)

Of course, the game was just a QTE type game like dragon'lair,I never got to finish it though.Wonder what the ending looks like..
But then again,I didn't put many cash in it..It was a frickin' BUCK A GAME for god's sake! And it only lasted about 5 minutes if you died halfway trough it.

There was this even rarer game..It was the first(and only to my knowledge)holographic fighting game ever made..Man,that game was just awesome, graphically speaking of course.Gameplay wise, well...To be honest, I don't remember what the gameplay was, don't know if it was good or just play awful, but one thing I remember for sure: it wasn't a simple QTE game like that cowboy thingny..

Wonder if those two were the only one made by sega...

What's QTE stand for? I fucking hated Dragonslayer
Is that the type of game where you watch the fucking cartoon, push a button when his fucking sword flashes, and if you're REALLY REALLY FUCKING LUCKY you might get to see the next part, then you do the same thing again?
Sorry for my swearing but that is like the absolute worst type of game I've ever played
Unless you're talking about something different

"QTE" stands for "Quick Timer Events"...Sorry,I think I played too much 'shenmue' this past two months...
There are scenes in shenmue were...well,basically its pretty much the same thing a those "interactive cartoons" games like 'dragon's lair' , dragonslayer(this one I'm not familiar with)or 'space ace'.
You know the drill: watch the action, a button or a part of the scene flashes, press within the time limit the corresponding button(s)..
I agree thats not the greatest 'genre'in videogames...
Man,these games were plentiful on 'Sega CD' (Mega Cd in Europe).

So yes, that's what I'm talking about. But in this case, those were not cartoons but live actor filmed, and rendered in a freakin HOLOGRAPHIC(err..thats probably not the corect spelling)environment!Sorry, its just that ,at this time, this was pretty impressive..

And,like I said, the 'holographic fighting game' was not a 'QTE' game..

So, you've never seen any of those 'sega holographic games?

Nope never saw one
Sorry, I meant Dragon's Lair
I'm still pretty upset about how stupid those damn games were, I had to spend a dollar to play that stupid dragon's lair, just so I could watch 5 seconds of a cartoon and not know when to push the damn button. What a fucking waste.
Okay, end of my rant now....

Those games were never holographic, it was a trick with mirrors.

i played the holographic game, it was crappy, but at the time, it was a new thing, so i played it a few times, but, it was damn near impossible to win at all in the game, the hologrphic game i remeber you were some guy, traveling thru time, or something like that, i never got past the sencond stage in the game, the game itself was pretty small, and the "holograms" were about 2 inches high,

like i said, the game was crappy

Space Ace was even harder than Dragon's Lair. The worst was every time you moved the screen would go black than show your movements. No time to react.

I'd like to try one of those animated games at least once, just for the experience. I've only seen Dragon Lair once at an arcade, but I opted to play Double Dragon 3 with my allowance. That decision was a double bladed sword, unfortunately.

One animated game that I was really interested in trying was Time Gal. Cute heroine. Too bad the Sega CD wasn't around long enough for anyone to try it!
