View Full Version : Anyone know how to get around the Arcade@Home and Cherryroms d/l scripts?

I wanna download from Cherryroms, but their scripts limit you to one file per five minutes! Anyone know the TRUE location of the ROM files, instead of that PHP redirect that points to the location? If anyone knows PHP, maybe you could find the location in the romsdl.php file and let me know (I don't know PHP so that's why I'm asking).

Also, Arcade@Home's ROMs site (Arcade Emulation) has some really funky script going on. Not only is there a bandwidth filter, but there's also that thing that automatically assigns a random download location, by dynamically generating a directory with an encrypted name and shove the file in there (something like http://the_shitty_site.com/roms/s5dfcs4d5f1c5s4zd5f1s15/kof99.zip), which expires after a certain amount of time. There's obviously a TRUE location for these files, because the scripts have to have a place to copy the file from when creating the dynamic directory. This site uses CGI instead of PHP.

The reason I need the download scripts hacked is simple. I need a place to download ROMs from. I'm sick of trying here, and as a matter of fact the only reason I go to this site is for the message boards. As far as I know, this site doesn't even HAVE ROMs. And also, the Arcade Emulation site has 35 CPS-2 tables, 138 Neo*Geo ROMs, 1684 M.A.M.E. ROMs, so I'd rather go there for more selection.

The URL for Cherryroms is http://www.cherryroms.com/

The URL for Arcade Emulation is http://63.217.26.20/pages/view.phtml?

138 Neo Geo ROMs is doubtful as there's only 129 of them... both scoobs and I have them all too
Also have you tried IRC for downloading ROMs?

*cough* www.aceroms.com

I would definatly go by the Fserve on IRC.. you can find them on dal.net in #roms or #allroms (im usually in #roms... dont look like a newbie and start REQUESTING.. just type in !rules then !list then the triggers..)

or on Newnet in #roms4free.. i think..!?!?!??!..

I'm not going by neoragex, if I did I'd say there were only 123 games or whatever....
DoomX I have Pleasure Goal but I don't have a Puzzle Bobble (american). Do you have this game? If so we need to swap :)
Seriously Badmiyamotofinger, I'm curious what these games are, what games do you have that don't show up on neoragex's standard game list?

That's a no go Dry Ice... keep in mind I've seen sites with more than 129 roms to download and a lot of them are actually the same game just renamed, like baseball stars, one time there was a site that had "baseball stars" and "baseball stars professional" or something like that, and they were the exact same game

I hate when those morons do it.. dont they know that you can change the settings on RageX..!!!.. Arrrg.. But I told ya about Puzzle Bobble.. Geoshock had the American version dumped..

The is no American version of Puzzle Bobble, if you change the machine settings in NeoRagex to US it will display the US game title Bust-A-Move. All Neo-Geo games are exactly the same, the language and title of the game depends on the machine it's played on. It has nothing to do with the cartridge (or ROM).

BTW Dry Ice there ARE only 129 dumped Neo-Geo games, if you read the list you posted you will find that half the games are the same. The only game that has been dumped which no one has is the MVS version of Iron Clad, which was dumped by a Japanese group who refused to release the ROMs.

Japanese Group Eh?... Hmmm... I wonder Scooby... how the hell did they get that one copy of the MVS...
