One of if not the best emulator of Sony's Playstation console, ePSXe is the most versatile PSX emulator readily availabe. It has an array of plugins to choose from that enhance the graphical experience and can enhance most games in the PSX's large library. Although setting up graphics and sound plugins may be somewhat tedious when compared to the simplicity of other emulators, the outcome is very well worth the effort.

Think of this a epsxe's cousin. Its setup is pretty much the same, you get to choose the plugins and all. But with PSXeven you can choose which controller plugin you want to use. give this emulator a try, it's great alternative if epsxe runs awkward on your PC. It enhances the graphics a little as far as I can notice. If a game works in epsxe, it works in PSXeven. I've encountered a few rare games that ran fine on psxeven but not on ePSXe so don't count this one out.

Doesn't use plugins and has a R3000 debugger. Also has a PS2 mode that can be accessed via the command line. This is the best recommended PSX emulator for those who don't want to fumble around with plugins. Start it up and play. It does not enhance the graphics like the other emulators though.

Supports many games. Very intuitive interface, full blown cheat support, save state managing, virtual memory cards, and game settings saves place this emulator above Connectix VGS, and Adri PSX.
The only thing that prevents PCSX from getting five stars is it's complex PSEMu Pro plugin and switch system, which you have to mix and match to make some games work.
This emulator is now discontinued but its devloper has released the source for anybody else to continue it

The not-so-popular of the psx emu bunch. It has low compatibilty, I got very few games to work on it. Good thing about it is that it has a simple GUI and it has low system spec requirements. A 300 MHz with 32MB RAM is enough
